Oneka and Otter Lake Elementary Tie Blanket Service Project
We extend our thanks to the students in Brenda Shea’s Oneka third grade classroom, Beth Fliehler’s Oneka second grade classroom, and the students at Hugo Elementary. These kids are learning what it means to be part of a supportive community. With help from Margaret Anderson’s Extended Day students, they made and donated 62 fleece tie blankets for The Closet.
Otter Lake Elementary
Thank you to the students in Michael Selb’s fifth grade classroom at Otter Lake Elementary. They held a clothing drive for The Closet in December, and dropped off eight grocery bags full of folded and sorted clothing.
Taco Johns White Bear Lake
Thank you to store manager, Chelsey Denman, and the team at Taco John's for organizing a mitten/hat drive at their store, to benefit The Closet. "Decorate the Tree of Warmth" will become an annual tradition there.
Arbors of White Bear Lake

White Bear Lake Police Department
Thank you to the White Bear Lake Police Department. They once again teamed up with the White Bear Lake Area Educational Foundation to help families in need with the 2019 Holiday Gift Card Drive.
Just Between Friends of the Twin Cities Northeast Metro
Thank you to Just Between Friends for your generous donations the The Closet.
Thank you to the Vadnais Heights City Hall staff members. They held a clothing drive to benefit The Closet.
Edina Realty Foundation
Thank you to the Edina Realty Foundation for your generous donation to our Angel Fund.
White Bear Lake Police Department
The White Bear Lake Police Department organized a holiday emergency gift card drive to supplement our Angel Fund. They collected nearly $300 in grocery, gas, restaurant, and clothing gift cards that we will use to help provide emergency relief to district families in need.
City of Vadnais Heights
The City of Vadnais Heights collected a variety of winter outerwear donations for The Closet.
Edina Realty Foundation
The WBLAEF received a grant from the Edina Realty Foundation that will be used to cover the expense of winter coats, boots, hats and mittens, backpacks, school supplies, basic food and clothing, and even temporary housing for students and families in need.
WBL Rotary / Trollhaugen Ski Resort
The White Bear Lake Rotary Club and Trollhaugen Ski Resort recently held a coat drive for The Closet where community members donated approximately 300 coats.
Hugo Elementary
Hugo Elementary teachers Hilary Farrington, Toni Brandvold, Leah Armstrong and Laurie Hahn, along with their kindergarteners, made fleece blankets to donate to The Closet during their 8th annual Families Helping Families event December 14 and 21.
Christ the Servant Church
Volunteers and parishioners from Christ the Servant Church in Vadnais Heights collected and donated 280 pairs of boys/girls socks and 166 pairs of boys/girls underwear for The Closet.
Christ the King Lutheran Church
The Women’s Ministry of Christ the King Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake made a recent year-end donation to our Angel Fund.
